Wycombe who were now 4 games without a win needed a win today if they had any chance of survival this season. They're currently rock bottom of the league table, 9 points behind Sheffield Wednesday.

Nottingham Forest were also looking to move clear of the relegation zone, and a win today meant they'd go 4 points clear.

It didn't take long for the visitors to score, with only 7 minutes on the clock Glen Murray executed a clean and composed finish on his debut. This is only the 37 year old's first goal this season after failing to score in 6 appearances at Watford.

Wycombe however, didn't go down without a fight with their set pieces causing problems for the Forest back four. Uche Ikpeazu went close a few times and eventually scored, only for it to be ruled out for offside.

Chris Hughton's side came out looking strong in the second half creating chance after chance until eventually Murray was brought down in the box and awarded a clear penalty. He showed the same composure as he did for the first and slotted it away to double his sides lead.

The second goal seemed to have an effect on The Blues as they never seemed like getting back into it, and in the 72nd minute Anthony Knockaert made sure of it. Substitute Joe Lolley made a nice run down the left hand side before teeing up Knockaert for his second goal of the season.

This loss for Wycombe puts Gareth Ainsworth's side 12 points from safety, they face Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night, a must win for both teams.
